Memorial day 2014, have you ever met someone that changed your life, I did when I met Tony Korte for the first time. I asked him about shooting Avatar the following night. He gave me a tour of the venue from the soundboard to the green room to the stage. Walking back to the front of the venue Tony says, “Bring your camera tomorrow night, I’ll talk to the guys.” The next night nervous, excited with anticipation I returned to Sunshine Studios Live and Tony says, “you're all set, have fun”!
After the opening bands, Suspension 9 and Seven Days Lost, Avatar took the stage and brought the house down. There was no pit and at the time I didn’t know better or cared, I was shooting my first concert! Since then, I have covered them 3 more times, most recent was 2023 at the Ogden Theater in Denver. They always put on a great show!
